Job Description

1. Provides technical support and engineering disposition in order to resolve all aircraft Avionics problems.

2. Reviews and actions Aircraft Avionics related Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs) and similar documents so as to ensure compliance with applicable GACA & FAA regulations.

3. Generate Engineering Orders with supporting documents, drawings and manual revisions to accomplish changes to aircraft Avionics as required.

4. Generate the required Engineering Authorization and Engineering Repairs to support the operation.

5. Acts as a technical liaison with aircraft system component manufacturers, vendors and overhaul agencies regarding the overhaul, repair and modification of systems as required.

6. Maintains awareness of GACA & FAA regulations and required compliance of FARs, ADs, SBs and Alpha Star maintenance program.

7. Issues engineering documentation such as engineering orders, manual supplements and build specifications as required to support the aircraft maintenance operation as it relates aircraft avionics.

8. Monitors defect data on Aircraft Avionics data and recommends action.

9. Investigate problems and proposed modifications, which are initiated by the different departments, evaluating their merits and providing or recommending solutions.

10. Provide assistance to technical writers in the development of revisions and corrections to Maintenance and/or Inspection Programs together with affected manuals to meet the requirements of changing circumstances or regulatory requirements.

11. Assists Maintenance and Materials Departments with parts and components research in order to determine proper effectivity and interchangeability.

12. Customize MEL/CDL to meet the GACA requirements.

13. Issues engineering documentation such as engineering orders, manual supplements and build specifications as required to support the aircraft maintenance operation as it relates to aircraft avionics.

14. Interfaces with Maintenance, Materials, Quality and Flight Operations Departments in order to provide solutions to aircraft avionics related technical issues on the fleet.

15. Other duties as assigned to assist the Engineering Department functions in achieving its operational goals and objectives.
