ROLE - A350 LEAD STRESS ENGINEER


LOCATION - FILTON, BRISTOL


RATE - £36.00/hr LTD


DURATION - LONG TERM


Tasks & accountabilities


As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the following:-Management of interfaces with adjacent work packages or sub-assemblies.-Providing strong technical leadership ensuring the highest quality.-Technical management of Interfaces Stress Team.-Operate as a signatory within your own function, (this may require development to signatory level).-Liaise with Airbus partners to establish optimum integrated design solutions.-Reporting and escalating critical technical issues.-Working in a fully 3D digital environment.-Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other capability improvements.-Project management of tasks as, and when, required. Description of the jobAn opportunity has arisen at our Airbus Filton site for an experienced Lead Stress Engineer to work within the Wing & Pylon Centre of Excellence on our latest aircraft programme, the A350 XWB.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Interface engineering activities at the level of a significant work package and the role will involve driving the development of both metallic and composite designs towards an optimised solution.The role will be based within an integrated project team and it will include the technical management of supply chain activities. Required skillsAs the successful candidate, you should be able to demonstrate the following characteristics:- Experience working as a Stress Engineer, preferably within the aircraft industry, including the design and analysis of metallic and ideally composite, structures using a broad range of hand and computer based tools.-A proactive attitude and the ability to work in a very dynamic environment.-The ability to work to strict timescales, within a multifunctional/transnational team environment.- As a team player you should have a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle.-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.-Excellent communication skills including English on both verbal and written levels.
