Systems Engineer - Hydro-Mechanical

Salary: depending on experience 26,000 - 58,000GBP
Systems Integration and Test Department
The main purpose of your role will be to specify, design, integrate, verify and support the hydro-mechanical aspects of landing gear systems. You will also manage equipment suppliers from a technical perspective.
Key responsibilities include: interfacing with customers and interpreting their needs; defining and validating requirements at system and equipment levels; designing hydro-mechanical systems architecture; carrying out calculations relating to design, loads and performance; and modelling and simulation of systems and equipment. In addition, you will assist with safety and reliability analysis and manage equipment suppliers - including the evaluation of suppliers designs, qualification strategies and documentation.
With a knowledge of systems engineering theory, you will be familiar with airworthiness regulations (such as CS25 and FAR25) and ARP4754, DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards. A knowledge of hydro-mechanical equipment design and qualification is essential, together with proficiency with DOORS; the ability to use MATLAB/Simulink, EASY5 and ideally ADAMS; and an understanding of basic project management.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline, you will be a highly motivated team player with excellent analytical, influencing, IT and decision making skills. You must also be a strong communicator, as you will regularly liaise with customers and suppliers alike to ensure the teams achieve exacting results. The ability to speak another language or experience of working overseas would be an advantage.
