ROLE
The Risk Manager is responsible for the risk management function within a specific project, having a responsibility regarding all aspects of risk management on this project. In this role the Risk Manager will liaise with other members of the Project executive to ensure that risk mitigation actions are being planned, controlled and monitored.
AT THE COAL FACE / TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance of the project risk register
- Management of risk, consistent with company Chorus processes and procedures
- Ensuring the effective interfacing with external organisations with regards to effective risk management
- Reviewing the risk mitigation activities within agreed WBS and work packages and ensuring that the risk processes are followed
- Reviewing all work package risk assessments (part of WP definition doc)
- Developing reports relevant to risk and the cost of risks
- Coaching and mentoring the project teams in the application of the risk management processes
- Providing expert support to the nominated Programme Manager and their Team on Risk and Opportunity modelling and evaluation in order to research the impacts and evaluate mitigation and recovery strategies and tactics.
- Producing a L2 plan, and associated WPDs, for risk management activities
- Planning of all resources specifically assigned to the risk management activities
- The costs and schedules of all the direct Risk Management activities
- Monitoring of other risk mitigation activities across the PCMO
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / PROVEN ABILITY
- Able to negotiate with and influence all stakeholders including peers & non-direct reports.
- A proven ability in risk management within large-scale complex systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS / ABILITY / KNOWLEDGE
- Multi-discipline background (systems, software, hardware)
- Particular knowledge of Pertmaster tool
ADDITIONAL WE SEEK AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS WORKED IN A MILITARY / DEFENCE ENVIRONMENT / INDUSTRY WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS OR WHO IS CAPABLE OF OBTAINING SECURITY CLEARANCE (SC LEVEL MINIMUM)
