A Major Gas Turbine Manufacturer has a 6 months contract at Ansty in Coventry.
Gas Turbine Services has 17 Aero Repair and Overhaul facilities providing global capability to meet customers needs for gas turbine engine overhaul and component refurbishment. The GTS Ansty facility has the capability to repair and overhaul Aero, Marine, and Industrial gas turbine engines. Aligned to the engine overhaul business is a Component Repair facility. The purpose of the Quality & Improvement Engineer role is to work with the Operations team and other Support Functions within the GTS Ansty Business to drive compliance to company processes and procedures, and to facilitate the identification and implementation of process improvements required to meet business performance targets and maintain regulatory and customer approvals. Quality & Improvement Engineers can either be assigned to provide hands-on support to the Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) within GTS Ansty, or they may be deployed within the core Quality Systems functional team.
Principal accountabilities for the role are: - Act as Quality Leader for IPTs and single point of contact for Quality to Customers, Suppliers, and Engine Programme Teams. - Investigate and resolve customer Quality concerns related to the maintenance and repair services provided by the IPTs. - Investigate and resolve internal Quality concerns related to the maintenance and repair services provided by the IPTs. - Collect and analyse data to understand process and Service performance to identify and prioritise Quality improvement opportunities. - Prepare for, and support, regulatory and customer audits and co-ordinate the investigation and timely resolution of any identified Non-Compliances. - Support the investigation and resolution of potential maintenance errors identified via the GTS MEMS system. - Support central functional programmes and activities deployed within the GTS Ansty business. Min 3 years experience in a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer role in a manufacturing/operations process environment.
Trained and experienced in the following: - Structure problem solving techniques. - 7 Basic Tools of Quality Management. - PC literate in Microsoft Office applications.
- Lean and /or 6 sigma trained and accredited.
