Job Description
A Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Infrastructure Engineer is required by our client in Switzerland. The main responsibilities of the PLM Engineer will be to operate, maintain, improve and document the PLM infrastructure and the related applications and also the backup and disaster recovery solutions. The Infrastructure Engineer will also have to ensure high availability and optimal performance of the PLM infrastructure and identify areas of improvement
Experience
- 2-3 years hands on experience in maintaining IT infrastructure
- Recent experience in a CAD/PLM environment would be an asset
- Deep knowledge of Windows operating systems and experience in scripting
Competencies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Background in troubleshooting issues and performance problems
- Good communication and documentation skills in English
- Understanding of PLM technologies, database concepts and backup solutions
- Oracle knowledge is beneficial
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks
- Ability to work after technical instructions and procedures
- Detail and problem solving oriented
- Commitment to excellence and pride in their work
- Works well both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to improve quality and resolve issues as they occur in an international environment
Other responsibilities and tasks will also include
- Operate, maintain, improve and document the PLM infrastructure and the related applications
- Operate, improve and document the backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the PLM infrastructure and identify areas of improvement
- Prepare, test and document scripts and deployment packages
- Execute system level support and troubleshoot issues and performance problems
- Prepare specifications, procedures, training materials and other documents
- Collaborate with other IT divisions, internal customers and external service providers
- Execute and support implementation projects
- Execute and support functional testing (also at deployment weekends)
- Execute and support user acceptance tests (with internal customers)
- Execute and support deployment weekends
